25 Spline -vs- 28 Spline Top Loader 4 speed

Just for verification, the only difference between the 25 and 28 spline Toploaders is the mainshaft itself? The Toploader in my 66 is an early 65 HEH-P unit and I have a used 28 spline shaft I plan to install.. does anything else need to be changed inside the Transmission?
