302 belt routing

302 with vintage air/ sanden compressor.

Anyone have ideas how to route the ac belt. The compressor won't come forward enough to catch the front pulley.

This is the last A/C I installed....289 but same idea...it went fine to the front groove.

Different setup.

This car has three groove crank pulley, one groove w\pump, and PS. PS/waterpump/crank in the rear groove, alt in second. AC should run in front groove and have an idler but original brackets were missing. Vintange Air's compressor bracket will not move forward enough to use front groove.

I can run it around AC/PS/crank/water pump with a decent wrap on all pulleys except the water pump. It would be right at 1/4 wrap maybe a little less.

Sounds like you need to convert to serpentine....everything I find runs it to the front. Sure you have it on the bracket correct?

Not sure. Calling Vintage Air tomorrow.

If you go serpentine, you end up with a reverse flow water pump and timing cover on most deals.

Vintage Air is sending me a different bracket with an idler pulley.

Kick ass customer service over there.
