i have a guy with a 70 torino who wants to buy the wheels off of my mustang. just curious if anyone knew if a 9.5" wide wheel would fit on the rear with those low fenderwells that the torino has. trying to save him a trip if they wont fit...

A buddy of mine used to run 255/60/15 in the rear of his 71 Torino with air shocks back in the day, not sure of rim size though...

guy brought the car up yesterday & the wheels fit perfectly! plenty of clearance inside & out. wish now i had taken some pics, guy bought the car new in dec 69 & it was nice! if anyone ever needs the info, a 17x9.5 with a 6" backspace is a perfect fit on the torino. now, i gotta get some new wheels for my car... :thu

OK so I am by no means a Torino expert. So I am guessing that this one is close to the year that you are talking about. I just wanted to point out how nice it must be to have all of that room under the hood. It does not look like any major mods to shove a 32V in there. It caught my eye because of the way the "shaker" hood scoop is mounted. Oh this was from the Knott's show last week.

That car is a 70... I've had a 70 Torino and a 71 Ranchero.. those shock towers have been modified... my 70 had a 429 (from a 73 T-Bird.. car was originally 302-2v) and the only way to change the inner 4 plugs was to use a spark plug socket and box wrench... who ever did the conversion though did a good job on that car...

They probably fill the wheel well a little bet than the 225/70/14's on 68-69 GT Wheels that I ran on both my 70 Torino and 71 Ranchero...

I fixed it to what I thought you wrote, Mikey...

It is the overcast, there has got to be a setting to compensate for it. I am trying, not very successfully, to fix with my photoshop. :roul
