Bumper guard question

Upgrading to guards with the rubber strips for the front of my stang, strips have two threaded studs and a hole, what goes in this hole? a screw, pop rivet or what? What color should it be black or silver?

What year? 64.5-66 has a tiny rubber bumper tip on the top of the bumper guards.

is there a difference wit the 67 ??
what do you mean with holen??
pic please.

imo the 67 didn't have a rubber strip on the front guard of factory.

OK my car came with chrome on front (with no rubber strip) painted on back with rubber. Replaced back with chrome with rubber last year, replacing fronts now. Purchased new chrome fronts with rubber strips, MY QUESTION IS the new bumper guards have 3 holes to attach the rubber strips, the rubber strips have only 2 threaded studs and 1 hole that matches up with each of the 3 holes in the bumper guards. Again my question is what type of fastener do I use in the open hole that has no threaded stud?

Yes, 67 front & rear bumper guards came with the rubber strip. Same as 68

I think you are wrong there Craig.

67 front is chrome only and back is painted with rubber. IMHO

Maybe those were for the cougars ??

According to the Ford assembly manuals the rubber strips were used on all 67 front guard's until 3/29/67. Thus never on 68's. Thus, I stand partially corrected.

Well , I just came back from my 68 coupe and noticed that that car has front chrome bumper guards WITH rubber strip ????

About 1 inch from the top , a screw is sitting through the rubber strip.

Pics will follow very soon. ( my son has them on his smart )
