Getting ready for Winter Project.

Craig, yes it was, tomorrow I'll see if I can get it installed. I need to pull the dash apart again to get to the wires for the controller.

+1 here :thum :thum

Aren't you afraid the the gears in the trans doesn't match with the diff ratio ??
You checked this ??

Not sure what you mean by not matching but I also went from 3:0 to 3:5 gears in the diff.

That 4r70w came from a V6 mustang ?
What diff ratio had that car ??

You have now a V8 engine with more torque then that V6.
I am afraid that the first two gears at least are to small for the V8.
I think you get in high revs too fast too soon.

Maybe its a good idea to talk to Opentracker John or some one with race experience to talk about that matter.
Isn't there online a kind of calculator for such things ??

Sorry for my comment but I hate it when things go wrong after putting alot of work into it.

I'm not sure of the gear ratio of the car this trans came out of, 2004 v6 Mustang. I have done a ton of reading on this swap, asked a lot of ???'s. Many people have done this swap before me, their cars having much more power than mine, with no problems. I think all will be good when I'm finished. Thanks for your concern though.

Doug, Thanks Things are going good, getting ready for some better gas mileage on the Power Tour this summer. We'll be passing through Ohio this year.

I'm no expert but the AOD which the 4R70W is based on didn't have different ratios for 6 vs 8, much like the old C4 which even came on some Pintos with 4 bangers. They didn't have different ratios either.
On a drag strip the lower 1st gear of the newer trans vs. a C4 (or FMX) might put the rpm's too high but on the street it should make a really good traffic light to traffic light runner!
