Well, I've got Murphy loaded up in the trailer and am just about ready to go. I'm headed out in the morning to the MCA National Show in Concord. This will be Murphy's 10th showing in the Conservator class, which means that I'll be coming home with the big Conservator trophy finally. I started this in 2006 and it's nice to finally finish it up.

It also means that I now can concentrate on Trouble! Reno in 2013!

It's a concours class where you first have to earn the blue grille medallion, which is 20 points. Once you enter Conservator, you must keep the car in the condition it was when it first entered. The car is judged by a head judge at the shows for cleanliness, workmanship, and condition. Once you pass inspection 10 times, you earn a really nice loving cup trophy. It's the top concours class because of how many wins it takes to finish.

Seems that I can confirm that Laurie is in fact on her way. :sm_NTA

Oh and I did pull into the rest stop just ahead of Miss Laurie and said hello. I needed to adjust my drivers mirror. If I ever get the work F150 up to 100 the drivers mirror will move down due to the wind. I was not doing 100mph, just the speed limit of 70 in 30mph + headwinds. :nut

well that's pretty cool stuff!!!
So another dumb question, what is the blue grille medallion? Does that mean it meets or surpasses that class?

Blue is for concours classes; red is for non-concours. The grill medallion represents a cumulative 20 points for the car shown in a particular class with gold/silver for 2/1 points (National Show) and 3/2 points for the Grand National Show. After receiving the grill medallion, one is eligible for Conservator Class, where you show the car for 10 shows, demonstrating that you've kept the car in show condition during that time.

Those winds were so bad, the worst I've ever seen there! At one point, I was barely able to do 50 mph up the hill without going into the yellow zone on my turbo pyrometer. I didn't think I would make it up the hill!

Then, I got on the 215, which promptly shut down for half an hour due to a bad accident that left a semi lying on its side in a gully. And, of course, my GPS chose that moment to go belly up. Been a fun day, not! LOL

sorry for all the dumb questions, just curious. It sounds like it is no small task to achieve this award. Congrates Laurie and Murphy!!! I think I have some bugs stuck in my radiator that have been there for 10 consecutive shows... :roll
BTW I am in Nor Cal too. Fairfield near Travis AFB.

I figured it must be this weekend. Wish I could make it and meet more of you guys/gals but I'm flying home on Friday. :bomb bummer

And you can't postpone your flight? :shrug

I could but I am going to Bill's (67 Fastback) on Saturday to help him with his project. We have been planning to get together a long time and he is really excited about getting it put back together. I am excited to help him too.

No requirement for 10 consecutive shows.

Laurie, have you looked in the trailer lately? I saw this in a parking lot in Nor Cal...
