Looking for a new alarm recommendation

The ole Viper alarm that was in my fastback when I bought it back in '98, I think finally gave out on me yesterday. So, it's time to look for a new one. I'm not looking for one that's too fancy. Up here in Redding, I primarily use it for the convenience of locking and unlocking the doors. But our work parking lot does have some unsavory characters walking through it. Don't need the auto start feature...doesn't get cold enough to require to warm it up. Plus having a 5-speed, I know my luck, I'd start it in gear!

Anyone have any suggestions on which alarm I should get? This Viper lasted 15 years, since I've owned the car, I was thinking of replacing it with a Viper. But don't know if they're any good now days. So, any assistance would be appreciated.

I haven't researched which brands are quality now but plan to install one in my Coupe when it's running. I'll install one with a pager feature as I had on another car. Pager went off when I was at my friends house 3 houses away and got to the car to find 2 legs sticking out the broken drivers window....that was a fun night. Now they have pager systems that will call or text your cell phone, I'll be looking at those.

I have a nice, brand new Spal alarm system I'd sell you for a very reasonable price. It's a few years old, but never used. PM me if you are interested, and I'll look at the model number when I get home.
