Looking for some spring advice

I'm finally at the point where the car is up and running and I'm just working on dialing in and finalizing a lot of small things. When I got the car, the springs were original and pretty worn so I picked up a new set. I expected that they would settle a little and that the front end would lower a little as a result, but the car has not settled very much at all. I have attached a few pictures that I have at the moment that show that the car is sitting pretty high.

I was thinking of running a drop spring because I really need to bring the front end down, but have exactly zero experience with suspension. The car is only going to be driven once or twice a week, with the occasional trip to my local drag strip. My setup is KYB GR-2's with stock everything else and running a 15" rim up front (if that makes any difference). I'm looking at maybe a 550#, 600# or 620# spring to replace. Anyone have any experience with the three different springs? Any rubbing issues? Will there be any noticeable difference in ride quality between the 550, 600 and 620's, or are they all going to deliver the same pretty stiff ride?

I use 620's with the arning drop in both Mustangs. Something to consider. But to level out the car I use 4.5 mideye rear leafs.

I'm running the Eaton or Scott Drake (can't remember which off hand) longer rear shackles to help even out the car. I have used them on my 66 and 68 in the past with good results. I'm looking to stay away from doing the Shelby drop at the moment, even though I have read some great reviews on the setup. I am leaning heavily towards the 620's at the moment.

Your front end is really high, unusually so. Is the engine installed? I am using 550# 1" drop springs from NPD, Arning drop and KYB GR-2 shocks in front. I had the gas-a-just in front and it was a bone-jarring ride on our crappy roads, replacing them with the GR-2 saw a softer ride and no noticeable depreciation in cornering performance.

Have you driven the car out on the road at all yet? If not, you have to drive about 10-50 miles before the springs settle completely.

Do the front wheels have a smaller profile tire than the rear? What is the distance from the ground to the top of the fender lip for both front and back?

I'm running a 225/60 up front and a 275/60 out back. I have approximately 4" between the top of the tire and the fender lip on the front. The rears, as you can tell from the pictures, are sitting exactly where I want them to be. Front and rear the car is sitting at 28.5" from the floor to the fender lip.

Yes, she's had about 15-20 miles put on her through various shake down runs and I have seen no difference in ride height due to settling unfortunately.

Thanks! She's been 9 years and more money than I care to think about in the making. Looking forward to finally getting her in show worthy condition!

I'd be a bit more patient. You might have to loosen up the lower control arm bolts and the rear spring eye bolts and shackle bolts just a tad to allow everything to settle down.

Guess I'll just have to get her out and drive her some more then. Darn :yah
