My husband forgot about it and just showed me it, but he grabbed a brochure for a new EFI on the tour Friday.

I think I just might have to switch to EFI. Holy cow I found the price. :wth

One of these days I'm going EFI, come hell or high water. Maybe not this year... but some day, some way, it will happen.

Forgive my inexperience, but I don't see how this is better than having a carb.......I am going factory 93 EFI, mostly because I don't like the way carbs smell or run.

Better performance and better economy. Fewer problems. Reliability. All probably accurate for the most part.

than a carb? or than fox body efi?
I was comparing to a carb. I'd also venture a guess it could be better than an older EFI system as well in terms of simplicity and maybe just a bit better performance but I have nothing to base that last bit on other than the rationale that after 20 years I would think the tech should be better.

i look at this stuff from a slightly different angle. i tend to do a bit of distance driving (when i have something together to drive) & always think about the "what if's" when looking at parts. if i'm out on the road & something breaks/quits, will i be able to source the parts quickly & be back on the road or will it have to be ordered from a manufacturer/supplier? if i'm out on a run like the power tour, will i be able to get a module for the msd efi locally in kansas/alabama or is my tour over (except for a long distance tow). if its just a hotrod for cruising around town, no problem, go with the flashy aftermarket unit...

That's a great point. I'm gonna stick with plan to go factory EFI. I will probably easily have $2000 in it either way.
