New springs look

The old and new look for the front end. Gt springs old vs 620's each with a 1" drop. The 620's have a 1" poly spacer with it. I know they are suppose to settle but front end does not move. Way stiffer than I would have imagined. The hydraulic look will hopefully be going a way soon.

The 2nd pic is the new look? Seriously way too high. Have you driven it around yet?

Installed yesterday and is going to rain all week up here. It is grossly high but I have a month of so to wait for it to come down to earth

I don't rememeber that much tension when relieved with the other springs at all. It was definitely audible when I hit the internal coil compressor. The next sunny day can't come any sooner... :yah

That's the first car that I've been able to see the upper arm by looking at it from the side. Impressive !

I haven't found coil springs to settle when put on a roller perch. I believe most of the time, the settling is the vulcanized rubber bushing in the spring perch breaking down.

For our cars, the 620 is a little stiff for the street, it makes a good track spring. We run the GT coil in our early Mustangs and Falcons.

Curious why you installed 1" drop springs and then installed a 1" poly spacer? Kinda defeats the purpose of the drop springs, you could get normal springs and stock spacer.

With my 620's, with shock removed, I can almost remove the spring without a compressor. Sounds to me like you do not have 620 springs.

My bet is you'll replace the 1" spacer. (Ask me how I know,) I believe I ended up with a 1/4' spacer. This was after replacing the coil springs and the lower control arms.

The top pic was a 1" drop GT spring which was ~2" lower than I wanted -compared measurements with a few here first - besides it rubbed the wheel opening. The engine is still in it. My guess is that the car once it was dropped down from the jacks and moved back a little will rest even lower then settle.

The gaps from front to rear are getting closer. The front is now 22.5 from the 25"

That is not right, no way it'll settle that much!

Agreed, are you sure those are the right springs for your application?
It appears as if you have the motor removed with the current stance...

No the engine was in, but the pic was right after the install and the tires had no moved after coming off the stands.
