Hi i have a 1970 mustang with a 351 cleveland and i'm trying to find some help my power steering line blew so i replaced it and filled it with power steering fluid. It worked for a day then the next day it was not working at all.I just read that i was sapposed to use atf type-f, so i changed fluid but still nothing the control valve was already rebuilt a year ago and theres no leaks that i can see do i just need to rebuild the pump or could something else be wrong. thanks for your time.

Did you drain all of the PS fluid before refilling it with Type F?

Would using power steering fluid instead of Type F really cause such a complete failure? My feeling is maybe it's not optimal, but power steering fluid should work.
