Rear windshield question

If I plan to replace the full qtrs on my car at a later date, how do I put the rear window in without having to have it "installed" I'd like to get the car running and driving then do the qtrs as "weekend projects".

You can install it "dry": rubber molding but no glue. Be warned, however, that in an accident it may come out.

How hard will be to get back out like that?

You can dry fit the glass and rubber in without sealant.
It will easily come out for future work. Just keep it out of the rain or away from the hose.

To add a tip, Lube the rubber gasket down with a dishwashing liquid like Dawn.
It will help with install and removal and won't dry out the rubber.
Just keep in mind it WILL be slippery when handling.

As I see it , replacing quarter panels isn't a weekend project.
If it is needed , do it now.
Its worth while to finish your car a year later . IMHO :confu :confu

Good chance of messing up the seal when it is removed. Needs lots of lube to get it to slide easy. Two people help too. The longer the seal sits in the car, the harder it gets, making removal difficult.

I agree, but I want to get the engine and trans in it. I'm sure it's not a weekend project, but at least I can drive it out of the garage.
