shaved dril rails

For those that have shaved their drip rails, the inner stainless piece in the window area that extends into the drip rail area what are you doing with it?

I'm thinking of shaving the rails, but wasn't sure what happened to them in the process.

from what i've seen, most are doing finish bodywork around the bend & deleting that piece of trim & simply going with the tracks for the weatherstripping. only seen a couple in person though, so may be other ways...

I would delete that trim. On our 65 I wish I had deleted the drip rail. I did not put the stainless on the drip rail and have not added that other trim as of yet. Nobody makes it new for the 65 and finding good used ones at a decent price is tough. I like the looks of it just finished and painted as suggested above.

I posted this on the other site and there was some confusion on what I was talking about.

But, you guys knew. I'm thinking deleting it and welding the rivet holes up. Should be nice maybe.

LMAO
If you delete it, I want it. Will it fit a 65? I have the passenger side stuff but not the drivers side...

It probably won't fit... the 65/66 door glass is about an inch shorter at the back compared to a 67/68. I would assume the drip rails are shorter as well.

But they are worth near the value of gold so if you delete, be sure to offer them up for sale rather than tossing them
