shocks

I'm sure this has been beat to death before, but looking for real world driver input. What shocks are you running and do you like them and why. I've heard KYB GR2's up front with some Monroe's out back.

I've invested the time, money, and energy to make the suspension as unbinding as I can so I want the car to handle well.

Input :dun

I have kyb gas adjust shocks and gr2's in the back. That is the best setup unless you go to konis or bilsteins.

I have GR-2's in front and Gas-A-Just in the rear, I had G-A-J on all corners and it was way too harsh for me in the front, changing to GR-2's in the front took out the sudden harshness without sacrificing handling. One of my fronts was also found to be leaking after <10k miles. I am also using 550#1" drop coils in front.

Running the same set up in Shag.

With that setup, does it corner well. I hate when a car dips into a corner. I know the sway bar helps that but the shocks make a difference too.

Edelbrock IAS on all four corners. Like them so far.

I too have IAS on all four corners...for years now.

Its a harsh ride but corners very flat.

Monroe all the way around. Had air on the back but with the new springs it sits to high and don't want to make it higher.

My 68 has Monroe ft and rear and 550 pound springs in front with 1 full coil cut off, roller perches. rides firm but not harsh.
The Shelby has all Koni, cut springs, roller perches, rides firm and harsh, but handles very well.

I have Bilsteins front and rear (the front's are coilovers). The ride is nice and compliant, but those things get tight when pushed.

Very nice investment.

I have KYB gas adjust on all four corners in the 69 with wore out stock springs. I don't consider it harsh at all. Can't wait to try out the Bilsteins on the 65 though...

I've had KYB G-A-Js on about fifteen vehicles over the last three decades. Isn't the GR2 a softer shock than the G-A-J? Why soften the ride? The only vehicle that I got a softer ride out of using G-A-Js was my 83 Ford Bronco. It had the factory heavy duty suspension with four front shocks and two rears. You couldn't go off the end of the driveway ramp without getting your teeth jarred with the factory shocks. The G-A-Js on my vert give it a nice, firm ride without a lot of body roll in corners.

When everyone here says Monroe, do you mean Monroe SensaTrac? I've heard good things about the SensaTracs but Monroe also makes cheaper and more expensive shocks as well.

Same, and I agree with Mike a bit harsh at times but I am happy.
