Exactly what I've wanted to build minus the wheels and shaved handles. Very clean car. Anybody know anything about it?

Yes different wheels. If I can ever come up with the money, I would love for my car to be like that. I just never see me finding 6 digits!

Nice car to dream about!

I doesn't have to cost anywhere near that. Do the work yourself. For half that amount you could have a KILLER ride if you did it all yourself. At least I hope so because that is the path I am on!

I agree with Terry. My car may not look like much, but I'm far less than 10k in it currently. Probably closer to 7k, still tons of money and work left but I think I can have it finished under 20k.

Especially when you use slave labor!

I am stuck at paint. I don't know how to do it myself, so it has to be sent out.

The rest I have done and will do more when I get to the interior.

Still when you get to a high dollar spot it is tough to get around it.

Have you tried? Today's materials make it so much easier than days gone by. BC/CC go on very easily and if you do make a mistake it's fairly simple to fix. If you can't give up the garage space you can often find paint booths you can rent.

Being shy to paint is not uncommon. Neither is the fear of building one's own engine. The paint guys can't figure out why anyone is afraid to spray their own and the mechanics think the same of building an engine. Like almost all tasks it a matter of using the right tools and knowing what you are doing. You can buy/rent the tools to do anything and the knowledge can be learned. In terms of paint, get your hands on an old hood or door and lay some down. Practice setting up the gun and your spray technique and in no time you'll see it's not that intimidating anymore.

You can paint a car start to finish, ALL materials included, for less than a couple grand using decent stuff. That's bodywork to final finish. You could spend less and you can certainly spend more. If you need to buy most of the tools that's extra but still a LONG way from what a quality pro job would cost you.

Did I mention how much fun and satisfying it is to do it yourself?

After my daughter, SIL and grandson move out I could make room to try.

My SIL knows how, maybe get him to do it to pay back rent free living for two years.

Sure, but I was thinking more when their stuff leaves with them I will get my 14x24 shed and garage back!
