By best, I really mean stickiest for identical sized rubber. The size I'm going to buy is 275/60/15. Here are the choices I've narrowed:

"BFG Drag Radials"

"Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials"

"M&H Racemaster Drag Radials"

"Hoosier DOT Drag Radials"

"Nitto Extreme Drag Radial Tires"

I posted this poll in at the "other" Mustang site, so if you've voted there, please don't vote here. I've got this poll going at a few other sites and will compile all the data when it's done. Thanks for your participation!

To be clear, all you want the vote based on is the traction performance in terms of "hooking"? Tread life, etc. not to be considered?

For the poll - yep, just the traction. But I welcome driveability comments. Many folks on the other sites have added comments on other aspects that have proven helpful in framing the issue; driveability; rain; wear; etc. Some w/track time on the tires even included 60 foot times, but my original intent is traction with a tire I can drive on the street.

I had the Nittos on my 95 and they diffently hooked. They weren't that bad if i got caught in the rain. But, i did get caught 40 miles from home in a couple inches of snow and that was diffently an expereance that I want let happen again. Lol

I had the M/T drag radial wrincle wall and loved them. I used them for two years of drag racing and driving to the track. Didn't need much burn out time on them for launch. I was leaving at 4700 rpm with no wheel spin, 12# air pressure. My t5 trans has 3.35 first gear and ran 355 rear-end. I ended up selling those tires and rims for 200.00 after I was done with them and they still were in great shape. If you are going to drive them to the track run the air pressure up to 30# and you won't have any problem.
