think I'm going to need a lot of help

After my car was painted its just been sitting. I think I am going to need a group of guys to get this thing back together. smh

Don't think of it as rebuilding the whole car. It's just a lot of little projects that combine to a whole. Take it one piece at a time. It does pay, however, to follow a logic progression of steps. Another really helpful tip is to tackle some small ones in between the big ones. Builds the confidence as you see stuff get checked off the list.

Suspension if not still on it so it is easy to move around.

Then I would hit the dash, instrumentation and wiring. Brakes would be easy here too.

Maybe finish the interior and glass. Of course, the doors must be hung and aligned here too.

Engine, tranny and drive shaft plus any other rear end work.

Body pieces and trim work.

Just try not to install something that has to be removed for other items install later on. Also, if you get stuck on an item, move to another area for a time to give yourself a break. Slow and easy, think thru the tasks first.

Of course, others may have some other thoughts....

Doors are on. I was thinking of doing interior last as i might need to get the car mobile first and I have the seats I can pop in. I figured I would start with the wiring and do the suspension. Then add in the new brake lines and new brakes. Drop in the engine, redo the rear end, etc. Get all the trim on and front/rear window, then worry about the side windows and interior. I have boxes and boxes of parts that need to go on the car. Would love to have a crew come in and overhaul this bad boy lol.

You'll need to do the headliner before you install the front and rear glass. I'd finish off the rear end before installing it... especially if it require a good detailing. Once the rear is done install it for good, install suspension, brakes, wiring, engine trans, glass, trim then interior.

Yes to all the above. Think, think, think before you act. Like I did with Shag (my 68), I finished off all outstanding sheet metal such as underside, engine bay, etc. Afterwards would be to finalize whatever components affects the car's ability to roll around, rear end/rear axle, front suspension. Next could come fuel and brake hard lines, etc. Next maybe drivetrain (engine, gearbox, driveline). Here comes some interior such as dash, gauges, so when you fire up the motor..... I took my time before installing the front and rear glass. Finally comes the interior components.

No matter what order you choose to take, enjoy the ride.

I was thinking of going with one of those molded headliners that you can put in with the glass in. Being it would give me a few more inches of head room and a cleaner look.

We put the Mustangs to Fear headliner in the 65. Easy do it yourself project with great results and the added headroom.

Brake lines and electrical wiring are one of the first things along with the wipermechanic, then heaterbox.
You really have to think things over before tackling any job.
You can make some kind of card system of each job to do and put them in a logical sequence.
