Trunk light in a 67

Lilalaric

I am considering buying a trunk light for my 67 but had a couple questions.

1. Do all 67's have the wiring pigtail for the trunk light, and where might it be found?

2. Does anyone have a picture showing how one bolts up in the trunk?

Thanks,
Rob

I've checked online, but became more confused. I see that it was part of a convenience group, but have seen info that says there should be a plug over the driver wheel well, but other info that states you must run the wiring under the door sill plate and into the courtesy light plug.

The wiring is part of the convenience group. If you do not have the convenience group, just run the wiring under the door sill plate and into the courtesy light plug.

Hopefully that makes it clear.

In 68 there is a cutout in the deck kid for the light. I have an original light in my 67 fastback with 68 deck lid.

I've seen 67 tail-light harnesses with the green/yellow wire embedded in the loom, which tells me that there was a variant for the trunk light. Yes, the plug goes into a female bullet under the dash and on the other side, there's a female plug just beyond the driver's side wheel well.

There were only 6138 safety convenience group 67's out of a total production of 472,207. I guess that's why the repro manufacturers don't offer this particular model in either coupe/convertible or fastback.

I assume this is what you are referring to?

I bought a deck lid with it installed from a VMFer. He ripper me off but I needed the deck lid ASAP.

IIRC that is a '68 (green/yellow) and the 67 was black, but very similar items. (but maybe I have that color coding backwards... or just wrong... senior moment...)

Internal mercury activation, test it on the workbench before installing. Connect to a battery and tip it and it should go on-off.

This is a pic in a Shelby (not sure where I got it, apologies to the owner as I can not credit them) but the non-Shelby mount was similar.
