Upper stone guard mounting

Does someone have a pic of how the upper stone guard gets mounted including the brackets on a 67-68? I have the stone guard and the brackets but no bolts so I need to get the right kit. The kit I found only has 5 bolts and I'm pretty sure I need 6 for the brackets and maybe 5 for the stone guard itself....so really, it's the bracket kit I think...

Dang Chris...I did mine years ago. I think I took pics but nothing with me since I'm in Bowling Green right now.

No help uh?

You are talking about the rain/stones shields up under the front fenders near the firewall right?

Nope, the steel filler piece between the front bumper and the grill opening. Fills in between the headlight buckets. I can't find anything that tells/shows me the bolts needed for both the brackets and the steel piece. Maybe the kit is for everything but it just doesn't seem like it has enough parts...

Chris: IIRC there are three brackets specifically for the front stone guard. There are left and right brackets that bolt to the front facing edge of the front aprons on either side of the car and a center bracket that bolts to the hood latch support. For hardware, I think you need properly sized "J" clips and hex bolts. Anyone know differently?

I just remembered that 3 of the fasteners are of the square captive nut style and are flush with the stone guard so the grill surrounds can lay flush

Jeff, correct. My issue is the only bolt kits I could find at CJ’s have 6 bolts, which makes sense to mount the brackets to the radiator support panel and the middle one to the latch support. What I don’t see are bolts for the actual stone guard. I was just trying to see how it all went together. I guess I should look for a 67 Mustang assembly manual
