So i have those really nice ($$$$) march pulleys and brackets on the front of my engine. I never liked the way they mounted the Power steering pump. Their setup pulls the pump in towards the motor. This puts the pressure line and the quick bend for the flare nut that mounts it to the pump right up against the manifold. There was like an eighth of an inch gap. Well after my longest drive to date, I came home parked in the driveway when i noticed smoke. Yep, the line got hot enough to melt part of the rubber and type f fluid got everywhere.
Anybody know if there is a way to trim the stud that comes off the back of the pump, or a flare 90 that would fit it? I need to find an alternative or quit using power steering.
Any suggestions?
