Man that sucks!!!

Next time...patience, grasshopper....or a hair drier....

At least you knew the cowl was sealed...

You could have at least got video of it.....for training purposes of course!

Glad no more damage was done.

yes, could have been much worse. Now that the shock has worn off a little I feel it wasn't so tragic but still learned a huge lesson! I was really depressed but I am glad it didn't burn to the ground!

Dang Craig, Glad it was not worse. It is a sick feeling when that happens, I unfortunately speak from experience.

Seems like everyone will have a momentary lapse of sense.
Had to lube the clutch pedal on my old car one night, but didn't have a light. So what did I use? A lighter. I thought I had the flame far enough away from the can, but gravity being the sneak sob it is, vapor hit the flame. And my eyebrows. All I could think was "Real smart there dumbass."

Really?
What happened?
My son was helping me with welding the sub frame connectors. When we got out from under the car, the interior was full of smoke. We has somehow caught the carpet underlayment on fire. Lucky it was just smoldering. Never pulled an interior out so quick before or after.

Craig all that I can say is that I am disappointed. :hmm No mention of blood loss or bodily injury so it cannot be considered a doofus. :mark

Glad to hear that there was no major damage other than to your ego. :ns

I had the interior, heater box and pretty much anything I thought would burn out of the car. I was quite surprised when something ignited! I can't imagine having to pull out carpet!

Sorry to hear of the mishap Craig but at least you're skilled to make the repairs.

After Katrina I was trying to burn a stump out and was squirting it with a big bottle of charcoal lighter fluid, didn't know there were still embers hot, the plastic bottle shattered and immediately ignited me. I was wearing a face shield since I had been cutting with the chainsaw, the flame licked into the face shield but no fluid got on my face at least. Had the hose at my feet and a fire ext. next to me, still not close enough. All I saw was yellow. No time to grab the hose or ext., I just fell backwards. Eyebrows, eyelashes half gone and front of hair was singed....luckily I was alone for a few weeks repairing the house while they regrew...

Sorry to here about that. Atleast its not the whole car...I know what im not doing when i get to repair my cowl.

Man that sucks Craig. At least it was somewhat contained. I think we've all had those moments.

I don't know if it is comforting to know my friends have done equally dangerous things or not! :hide
