First Driveway Cruise

Pretty exciting I'm sure and cool. Looks like you made need some power steering in the future.

Yes very nice!! Makes me appreciate my power steering.

Been a long time coming... considering I first met you at FM several years back. You beat me by several years :nut

I don't think I will be putting power steering in this car. Maybe smaller tires up front. It has 225's on all four now. It is really not as bad as it looks once it is rolling.

My wife was asking what was up with the steering. She has never driven a car with out power steering.

It was 4 years Jan 1st - this should have been done last summer.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Maybe next time you should hold the camera and let her back the car out? :hide

Congrats, I hope to be at that stage soon. Car sounds great.

It's really exciting when it moves under it's own power for the first time. I took video of mine too and still watch it from time to time. Congratulations!

my car was a PS car but I removed it. The gearbox is still the 16:1 PS ratio. I have 205's on the front but with the weight of the 429 it's still a bit of work to steer when not moving or moving very slowly but any speed at all and it's no issue. I am used to it anyway. I don't have power brakes either but with four wheel disc it will stop! Just part of having old cars I guess. It doesn't bother me.

I read your post Craig about the 205's up front unfortunately I had already bought my tires.

I debated on going that way originally but, I would not be able to rotate the tires and that was the deciding factor.

Nonsense. Your front tires got rotated as you went down the street.

That's quite a narrow driveway/alleyway you got there...hard to turn around, eh?

Steep too

Drove the car through the neighborhood and to the line up shop.

I made it without anything going wrong. I really wanted to drive it around a bit longer but, it does need a line up.

Found out something is wrong with my speedo though. It's not working.

Great time! I remember when mine out for the first time on its own. My driveway has a slight incline and I had no idea how I was going to get it back into the garage if it broke. :)
