Motivation to finish the 65 fastback

guruatbol

Always on vacation!
I am loosing my motivation to finish the 65. I have some money to put into it and should be able to get it painted and spend some quality time with it to finish some little things that have been on my mind.

But....

SWMBO tells me the other day that she wants me to do a 69 FB.....Where the heck did this come from? I would love to do one. It is my favorite body style and it is the only one of the classics I have never owned. My issue is that I don't really want to spend the time to finish my car if I am just going to get a different one. I had thought about selling it after I was done with it because she wanted a 67/8 Camaro...

I just wonder where the heck she gets this from.

I should consider myself lucky she likes the cars. I just wish she would cut loose the money.

Sell me your 65 at a price I would not regret. The sooner the quicker you can then start working on the wife's 69.

Consider yourself lucky Mel. My wife's wish list is about as eclectic as they come, a '57 Bel Air convertible, a Benz 450 SL or a VW Thing! How in the HELL a VW made it on that list is a mystery to me. Notice the LACK of any Mustangs there!

Get your check book and make me an offer before I drive it and the TKO and Traklok make me change my mind....

Needs full floor pan and qtr skins. Might get into more IDK, frame rails look good. Cheap enough you'd drive from Utah to Ky for it :whis

Those kind of cars people usually pay me to take.... :pbj

On that one maybe cut the VIN out and sell the VIN and title for a Dynacorn refit.

SWIMBO said she would love to do the Dynacorn body, put a power sunroof in it and all the luxuries that our Durrango Citadel has in it with a 429 and 6spd.

Basically she described a $150k car....I don't see me affording anything like that, ever!

not all, but a bunch so far. i'm really surprised that first comment was about that stuff & not "oh no, your not selling the mustang"... :dun its just time. a couple folks here I've spoken privately with know the story on whats going on here & what i'm going through, but its just time to make some changes & eliminate all the stuff I've been collecting for the past 20 or so yrs. unfortunately, i'm not a young man any more & have realized a lot of the "i'll eventually get that done" isn't gonna happen. if anyone is interested in anything, better speak up soon before its gone... :hide

Hey Steve! I know you hate to see all that stuff go. Hell, I hate to see it go, but I'm sure you know what's best. Sometimes you have to do things...

Still time to reconsider selling the Mustang, right?

Good luck with whatever you decide. :thum

Steve, Only because as bad as I would like to eventually own another 69, I know its not within my financial grasp any time soon. But am sorry to see you sell it. I have always admired your stash of Coca-Cola signs and gas pumps hoping to be able to get a pump and sign in the future. Sorry to hear that things aren't the best for you at this time and hope/pray that things get better. Hope you reconsider parting with the 69, always wanted to see you complete it.

the mustang will be last on the list to go. really want to finish it up first. biggest thing with the vehicles is storage. just don't have the room to keep everything, so just have to make decisions. i'm feeling better, started some vitamins & supplements on mon that have done wonders. i'll let everyone in on whats been going on soon, just have to keep things on the down low for now...
