Americanpony springs vs SorT version. Both with 1" drop note the AP are longer smaller in coil size

Something isn't adding up for those to be equal in terms of 620# spring rate.

The overall spring length is irrelevant in terms of spring rate. That's just going determine where the ride hieght sets.

The overall "wire length" and "wire diameter" are all thats needed to calculate spring rate. (given the material is the same)

Coil springs are essentially torsion bars that are coiled up, so the same principles apply. The taller spring has more coils, so it's longer, and the diameter appears thinner, hence that one should be the lower spring rate of the two.

I don't doubt that their final ride heights would be the same, but I don't think they are truly the same spring weight.

For equal spring rate, the longer one (more coild windings) should be fatter. to be equal to the shorter one shown.

If you have a dial caliper or micrometer, you can use one of the online calculators to determine each ones spring rate.

To me it looks like the top spring is a GT goil. It has 8 coils and has a smaller OD on the coils. The bottom spring is the real 620 with 7 coils. They would both land the car in about the same spot.

Dimension for my old set are:
0.509 diameter
5.06 outer diameter
14.50"
8 coils
so how do those specs compare to the two pictured? Enquiring minds want to know!
