Pics - Installed the motor and T5 yesterday.

Actually it was KBMWRS's idea when he cut the foam piece when we were installing the motor and tranny in Shag. I am surprised that you had to cut so much of the tunnel opening for as you can see here I trimed just a tiny bit.

Looks like the difference in the needed opening size is the angle that the drive train sits in the car. Shag looks to have a lower placed engine.

Interesting enough, I only had to trim a small area like you did above, but we trimmed the back side of the opening to clear the shifter when it was in 2,4 and reverse.

one thing i have figured out. every car IS different. in making crossmembers/brackets etc. you can have two identical cars & the same parts but everything fits a bit differently.brackets that fit one car need a bit if adjustment on others.

it had an "F" in it... it was shiFt hole.... had to read it closely myself :pbj
