Scored Disc Brakes for Old Yeller 68 Mustang!

So sometimes I wonder if my FIL remembers that we are partners in crime on our 68 Mustang when he talks about selling it...which is NOT going to happen! So I try and do a few upgrades to keep it fresh. Here is a pic of the car:

And here is the daily score, a complete 68 disc brake conversion kit compliments of CraigsList for $350.!! :yah Yeah I'm dancin'!

Thanks Craig. I'll need to pull both spindles off and the tie rods to make this happen, it's much more than simply bolting on calipers for the 68. It was the first year that the disc brake models got a different spindle.

I remember someone building a tool that separated the ball joints with an expanding pipe placed between both the upper and lower ball joints. Does anyone know which site or have a link to that thread? It was a pretty neat idea, to remove the ball joints without using that destructive pickle fork! Thanks

Thanks Grabber70Mach, that is it! Also, thanks Stangg, I have that tool but have found that they are never the right size and they almost work and then pop off. I'll have to fabricate that tool soon, as well as the UCA holding bracket in the Chilton Manual. I'll post a thread when I do this job. Thanks again guys!

One more question, does anyone recognize these spindles and brakes? The brakes look beefier than the stock 68 single piston calipers...maybe they are the Granada style brakes, which makes me wonder it these are Mustang or Granada spindles.
