So I pull into the gas station the other day...

... to put some gas in the Mustang... and there's a guy & his wife just finishing up doing the the same in their late 70s/early 80s Corvette on the opposite side of the pump. So I say "Hey, nice car", which it was. He thanks me and they pull away and leave.

A few seconds later a different guy walks over, kind of gives my car the once over and says "yeah, it's alright but it's no Mach 1". So I'm thinking 'here we go, it's one of those guys'... who thinks he knows more about your car than you do... and I say "yeah, it's a Mach 1".

And he says "no, I was talking about the 'vette"!

I had to laugh at myself a little on that one.

that is a good one!
I gotta share my Vette story now...
On the Hot Rod Power Tour, there are thousands of cars. Probably a fifth are newer Corvettes. I don't have anything against Vettes but Vette owners tend to be a different breed.
Well, the first night we arrive in Detroit and get to our hotel it is raining. There is a new Vette sitting under the covered area at the front door where you would check-in. I didn't think too much at the time but in the morning it was still there. So all the rest of us leave our cars in the parking lot in the rain and this Vette gets to stay all night under the cover. I wasn't mad but it confirms my thinking about Vette owners. So my wife and I go down to have breakfast at the hotel before heading out and I say to my wife (about the Vette owner) what an a$3 hole...
Turns out it belongs to Vic Edelbrock who just happens to be sitting at the table next to us :hide

Around here, they run in packs. Roll into town & take over the local drive through like a cleaner, more polite, less tattooed Hell's Angels chapter. More 'mild one' than 'Wild One'.

theres one guy that used to come to the sat night cruise in here. would show up early to get a good spot with the wife following in the station wagon (full, & i mean full of cleaning/detailing supplies). he would spend the whole time there cleaning/detailing the car. never hardly spoke to anyone & when he was thru cleaning it, he packed everything away in the wagon & left... never figured that one out :confu.
