Serious time, have you pulled a valvecover to see if any rockers are loose or studs have pulled out? Did it pop thru either the carb or exhaust?
 
I would've had the valve covers off before the tow truck arrived. I couldn't sleep till I found the problem.
 
UPDATE

So here's the outcome....per mechanic

It was the rocker arm adjusting screw like Jeff noted happened to me before. These are stock screws which have jam threads which have a propensity to back off over time. The recommended torque for these is only 3lbs and a few others were easily moved by hand so a fix was needed. Finding stock screws was also a challenge so the next best thing is a upgraded adjustment screw with a lock nut designed with it from Crane Cams. This did necessitate tapping the rocker arm hole to acccept a full threaded screw. Of course all the rockers were upgraded so this won't happen again.

All is well now and the '67 is back to normal with an abnormal driver. :steer

Maybe it's me, but the angle of the pushrod and rocker looks HUGE.
 
Oh Mark, You're sniffin too much tractor fumes............Hey wait (rubbing me eyes)! Maybe you're right.
